Q: What should I do if the new fan clutch’s fan doesn’t spin after installation?
A: First, check if the mounting bolts are too tight—overtightening can bind the clutch and prevent it from moving. If bolts are fine, check the electrical connection (for electronic clutches)—make sure the connector is plugged in securely. For mechanical clutches, ensure the clutch is aligned correctly with the drive pulley (misalignment can stop it from engaging). If none of these work, the new clutch might be defective—contact the seller for a replacement.
Q: Why does the fan clutch’s noise change when the engine is accelerated?
A: As the engine accelerates, the clutch’s drive pulley spins faster, which changes the speed of the fan and internal components. If the clutch has a worn bearing, the noise will get louder with higher RPM (since the bearing spins faster). If the fan is slightly unbalanced, the vibration (and noise) will increase as speed rises. A normal, working clutch may have a slight noise change with acceleration, but loud or harsh noises mean there’s an issue (like bearing wear or loose parts).
