A: Silicone fluid is the key medium for transmitting power. It's a special high-viscosity synthetic oil with stable viscosity-temperature characteristics. When the clutch's thermal actuator heats up and opens the valve, the fluid flows into the working chamber. The rapidly rotating drive disc uses the fluid's immense shear force to drive the driven section and fan, achieving power transmission. The amount of fluid determines the coupling tightness, thus controlling fan speed. Its stability ensures consistent performance across different temperatures.

Q: Does the "temperature control valve" of a silicone oil fan clutch need running-in after replacement?
A: A short running-in period is needed after replacing the temperature control valve. Avoid high-load driving (like high-speed climbing) immediately—first idle the engine for 3-5 minutes to let the valve and oil adapt. Then drive at low speed (below 60km/h) for 10-15 kilometers to further break in the valve. This allows the valve to open and close smoothly with the silicone oil, ensuring accurate temperature response. After running-in, the clutch can be used normally, and the valve will operate reliably under all conditions.
