If it drops easily, the fluid is likely depleted. 3) Visual Inspection: Check for any signs of fluid leakage from the bearing seal or a cracked or loose thermal spring.

Q: What does it indicate if a fan clutch is too easy to spin when the engine is cold and off?
A: If the fan spins freely with multiple easy rotations and little to no resistance when the engine is cold, it typically indicates that the silicone fluid inside has leaked out or has severely degraded. This means the clutch has lost its ability to engage properly. It will fail to provide adequate cooling when the engine gets hot, leading to potential overheating.
